The Big Bee Stage

The Big Bee, presented by American Heritage Dictionary is an event for all ages: Kids, ages 8-15, Teen/Adult ages 16 and up.You can register as early as 9:00 am for a Big Spelling Bee or the Big Define-A-Thon. It is free – but space is limited. Get your name in early! Winners will receive prizes including a hardcover American Heritage Dictionary.

Senior editor of The American Heritage Dictionary, Steve Kleinedler, returns for a third year to the Big Read Festival to host our popular (and competitive) Big Bee and Big Define-A-Thon.

(the first 20 entries will be accepted in each category)

Kids Big Bee (Ages 8-12)
11:30-12:30 pm
Kids Define-A-Thon (Ages 10-15)

1-2:00 pm
Teen/Adult Big Bee (Ages 16 and up)
2:30-3:30 pm
Teen/Adult Define-A-Thon (Ages 16 and up)
 
Editor Steve Kleinedler will sign American Heritage dictionaries and other books including his 100 Words Almost Everyone Mispronounces and 100 Words to Make YouSound Smart between competitions.
